once upon there was a poor photostudent who spent the whole summer working for a brick layer carrying bricks up scaffolding smashing his fingers and body. he made a pile of cash and managed to save it and not waste it away on beer. he limped over to E. Philip Levine the ultimate camera store in Boston, the great mr Levine took his Nikon equipment and the cash in trade for a old 1954 Lecia M2 with 35 f2 lens and said, son you gonna mess you health up if you keep working for that brick layer, when you finish school come and see me...

Was in Japan last week, now home in Sweden, and tomorrow heading to the USA to visit family. Check out 23hq for some more photos from Japan. The GR is great, I studied photography long ago and still have a Leica M camera, but computers stole my soul. I checked out the GX100 in Japan, it is cool! by l like the GR and its fixed lens and the manual controls plus it has a hot shoe for FLASH....

agree with the film classifications... and of course you need to check the processing costs of the different films, since Kodachrome has its own process compared to ektachrome and the other slide films using the E6 process and the color negatives using C41 also check this thread out @N00/discuss/149193/">c41 bw fillms

important thing is to have fun, best to go to a large photo store and buy some near to date expired film from fuji, kodak, and ilford. Lately I think XP2 is bit too grainy, pefer Kodak TRI-X 400 asa. Used to love that film back in the days. There are some rules of thumb for exposure and you can always experiment.....
